What does great content feel like ?
April 5, 2017

I have made no secret of the fact that I am a member of my local BNI chapter. In fact it’s a chapter that launched today as the biggest ever launch in the UK and Ireland. The BNI has transformed businesses all over the world. It is often called a networking organisation but it doesn’t really work that way. It is in fact a referral marketing organisation and the benefits that can bring to a content writer are huge. But don’t think about what others can do for you – think about how you can help others. This is why every content writer should join BNI as soon as they can.

I love being a part of the BNI. It takes be away from my desk and gets me in front of others. I can talk to other people who help me in my business and that I can help too. It is a positive way to spend a few hours early in the morning when others are still asleep.

What is referral marketing?

Referral marketing is where you go to pass business. This is where you look out for business opportunities for others in your group. You learn about others in your chapter so that you can find opportunities for them. The more you get to ‘know, like and trust’ people, the more likely you are to refer them to people you know. They do the same for you and your businesses grow together.

It is like you are meeting and educating a team of sales people that will all go out there and look for business on your behalf. This is a fantastic way to do business. There are so many reasons why every content writer should join BNI and make it part of their business.

Why is this great for content writers?

Well we are in a good position to benefit from this. As people that write for other companies, we see the opportunity to do business with others for our fellow chapter members. We can help the others in our group to grow their business. The more you give in BNI the more you gain. Why every content writer should join BNI isn’t a question that is difficult to answer.

You get access to loads of quality local businesses that can help you build. Plus they will all have a need for you once you have been there a while and established a level of trust. BNI is a global phenomenon, but it isn’t used nearly enough by content writers. Pick any business you like – there is something you can do for them in one way shape or form.

Content writers can really make their mark in BNI as they have transferable skills that can help many members of the group. The more useful you are to others, the more they want to help you. Check out your local chapter and see if there is a vacant. To go along and have a look, all it takes is ¬£10 (don’t forget to bring a stack of business cards) so why don’t you just go along and take a look?
