Blogging for success

When it comes to the content that you have out there on the internet promoting your company there are many options for what you can produce. We all have basics like our own website, social media profile and maybe some marketing. One area that has huge potential if used correctly is the blog. A good blog does wonders for your brand profile and changes the way that you are seen on the internet by your potential customers.  But there are certain things that you need to remember with a blog when using it for your company-

It helps with SEO

As a North East blog writer I am often asked what difference a blog can make to the SEO of a website. Blogging for success is all about this. Your blog shouldn’t be just filled with keywords but you so need to remember that it really helps you with your search engine ranking. So you need to consider carefully where your blog will sit. You really have two options here-

  1. Have your blog on your website to help with ranking
  2. Have your blog on a separate site and point the reader back to your main site every time

There are benefits to both approaches but the neatest way is probably to have all of your content in one central place. You van then use things like social media to promote your blog and get people to follow you there.

Give something away

If you want someone to read your blog and then come back for more then it has to serve some purpose for the reader. You need to give something away with every blog that the audience can find useful or informative so they return again. You want people to share, re-read and subscribe so the words that you put out there really have to serve a purpose. Blogging for success lets you get ahead of the competition in this way.

Content is valuable to a business but time is valuable to everyone. If you can’t engage your readers straight away and give them a reason to read on and return then your content may not be serving the purpose that you wrote it for. Think about what you want your content to do and then make sure that it really connect ts with your customer.

Think about a call to action

It is great for people to read and enjoy your blog but you will probably want it to work a little harder than that for you. What you need at the end of the blog is to prompt your reader to take some action. As a North East blog writer I see the benefit of a call to action or CTA. This is asking your reader to do something else in a compelling way. Phrases that might help include-

“Please remember to share if you found this interesting.”

“Did you like this? Do you want to see more? Subscribe today and be the first to get our blog.”

“Follow us on Facebook for all the latest news.”

It is all about engaging that reader that has read your blog and wants to get more from you. You want to be able to connect with as many relevant people as possible in as many ways as possible.
