Writing doesn’t have to be something that you have to plan before sitting down for hours on end. If writing becomes a chore for you, whether you write for your business or pleasure, then that can easily show in your words. I look here at how to fit your writing into your lifestyle to make it easier to write. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Just writing a few words here and there can start to build what you want to say without it feeling like you have committed hours to it. We are busy people, and to put everything else down to write can feel like a time commitment that we just don’t want to make. For individuals, we have idea that we want to pursue but they often remain as just ideas, For a business, writing can just fall to the bottom of the queue every time and actually never get started.

Fit your writing into your lifestyle

When I am not sat writing for someone else as part of my day job, I like to fit some writing into the rest of my day, so I can make some progress without it feeling like I haven’t had a day away from it all. I am always the first one up in my house, so I tend to get some writing done while the rest of them are still in bed. This gives me a head start on the day, and feels like I am making some free progress while the rest of the business world is probably tucked up in bed. Fit your writing into your lifestyle is a way to get the best from your writing, whether it be for –

  • Your business
  • Creative writing for yourself
  • Writing you are trying to sell to others

My phone is also a great place to record my thoughts, ideas and some parts of my writing. I use the notes section on my iPhone to get down some of my writing. This happen when I’m waiting to pick the kids up from school, sat as a passenger in a car or stood outside of a shop while my wife is looking for something. It doesn’t have to be every spare minute of the day, but writing a paragraph a few times a day will really start to build a piece of work that you can re-read, edit and extend when you get back to your desk.

Using someone else to write for you

I know a lot of people want to write for themselves, but with a busy life it just never seems to happen. That is where I can come in. I can help to plan a piece of writing, edit what you already have or write it for you from scratch. Ghostwriting for others is one of the things I do on a regular basis and I have written both fiction and non-fiction for others that have published the book in their own name. Fit your writing into your lifestyle is a way of life for me!

For business I can help to plan your writing, or learn all about what you do before writing it for you. It’s all part of the service. I write for businesses when I understand what they do and have researched their customers. Only then can I deliver something that will fit your needs. Please get in touch if you need to discuss this.
