For those of you that have been with me for a while, you will know that I’m an author as well as a content writer. I love spending some of my time on my own projects as well as writing for others. well, my latest novel has been released. BRUTAL (Augustine Boyle) is a detective novel, looking at a team that have a serial killer in their sights. It is the sequel to INITIAL, which was released last year.
The book has taken around a year to complete, edit and prepare. A novel doesn’t happen overnight. It takes a long time even when the manuscript is first completed. Having a book released is an amazingly satisfying thing. I have published three novels and a handful of non-fiction books too.
Writing for others is a great feeling. I get to use the skills I learn as an author to help companies tell their story to their customers.
The book is set in and around Washington, Tyne and Wear as well as the rest of the North East of England. Looking at an area where I live for the setting has helped me to build up a backdrop that is real.
One of the issues writers have is the believability of their novel. This comes in the form of –
I have ‘borrowed’ the North East of England to help me build up a believable place for all of the events to unfold. The team are based in Washington, and move their way around the ar4ea as they pick up the clues that may lead them to the killer.
If you like the works of LJ Ross or even Jo Nesbo, then this might well be the book for you. I’d love to hear your feedback either here or on Amazon if you have read the book. All feedback helps me to build a good idea of where I can improve on my writing. Thank you!
